Meet Caitlin Thomson, our new Brand and Content Executive in London
I'm excited to welcome Caitlin to the Gridcog team - joining as our Brand and Content Executive, based in London!
Caitlin has spent the past five years helping fast-growing companies build their marketing and brand across a range of industries. Now at Gridcog, she’ll be helping to establish our marketing presence across Europe.

What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?
Before Gridcog I worked with scaling businesses, first in angel investment and then in HR tech.
I’ve always been really interested in the energy sector, but coming from a broader background meant I had to find a slightly less direct route in.
What is your role at Gridcog?
I’ve joined the UK marketing team to look after brand, content and events. Day to day, that means making sure Gridcog looks and sounds like Gridcog wherever people come across us.
I also work closely with our team of energy analysts and engineers to turn their modelling and market insights into content that’s useful for everyone working on the energy transition.
I’m looking forward to getting out and about and meeting people across the industry, so if you spot us at an event, come and say hello!
What attracted you to working with Gridcog?
The energy transition is the most pressing challenge we face globally, and I’ve always wanted to work at a company that helps address it. Gridcog gives me the chance to work alongside a bunch of energy nerds who tackle those big problems every day!
Having come into energy by a less direct route, I love that there’s always someone happy to explain the finer points of what's happening in our energy markets, and I’m looking forward to helping share those stories with a wider audience.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to travel. In 2024 I did an amazing trip through Australia, the US and Canada, with lots of road tripping and camping. At home I’m the opposite, and love knitting, reading or staying in and watching Only Connect.
What technology could you not live without?
My big noise-cancelling headphones and my Kindle, so I can pretend the Northern Line doesn’t even exist.
