Meet Daria Ekimova - our new Senior Energy Analyst in Berlin
I’m excited to welcome Daria Ekimova to the Gridcog team - and to our brand new office in Berlin!
Daria joins us as a Senior Energy Analyst, helping our clients to navigate complex energy markets and assets using Gridcog’s platform to model renewable, storage, and flexibility projects.

What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?
Before joining Gridcog, I was at 1KOMMA5, a German electrification company focused on home energy solutions, where I worked on customer performance and market analytics. Earlier in my career, I was part of Aurora Energy Research’s Advisory team, where I developed a strong interest in battery investments and the complex economics behind them across different European countries.
I have a background in Economics and a strong interest in how markets are set up, which initially drew me to the energy sector, as the sector is going through a period of major change, with evolving market rules and new power markets emerging. And what makes it especially exciting for me is that energy sits at the core of enabling sustainable transformation across many other industries.
What is your role at Gridcog?
I joined Gridcog’s Industry team as a Senior Energy Analyst. In this role, I help customers get started with Gridcog and support them in modelling complex projects in Germany and other European markets. I also work on exploring new modelling approaches and help develop the platform’s capabilities.
You’ll also see me sharing insights on the platform’s features and showing how they can be used to address the most pressing industry challenges and navigating regulatory changes, through blog posts, videos, and other content.
What attracted you to working with Gridcog?
I first discovered Gridcog through their videos on regulatory updates and project modelling. The clear, structured insights and transparent, user-friendly platform sparked my curiosity about both the product and the people behind it.
Gridcog has a young, dynamic team where everyone is highly engaged and genuinely passionate about the energy transition, making it clear to me that this was exactly the kind of environment I was looking for.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy arts - visual and martial. I like visiting art exhibitions and trying drawing or crafts classes. Martial arts have been part of my life since childhood, and you can still find me in a boxing gym or doing yoga to stretch and recover afterwards. I also enjoy travelling and outdoor activities. Spending time in nature is one of the best ways for me to relax, especially through hiking or climbing.
What technology could you not live without?
Well, I’d have to say electricity - the reason I have light at home and a very cool job at Gridcog :)
