What were you doing before Gridcog, and what got you into the energy space?
It started with my simple wish to have a positive impact on the environment through my career. Combined with my curiosity about technology, this led me to a Bachelor’s in Renewable Energy at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld and a Masters in Sustainable Energy Systems Analysis at DTU in Copenhagen. Afterward, I moved to Berlin to join Aurora Energy Research’s graduate programme, where I later focused on energy storage systems as a Senior Analyst in the Central European Advisory team.
What is your role at Gridcog?
I joined Gridcog as a Senior Energy Associate on the Industry Team in our newly opened Berlin office. In a nutshell, I help our clients navigate the ever-evolving landscape of electricity markets, policy, and technology using our software.
What attracted you to working with Gridcog?
When the opportunity came along, I knew it was the right fit. The team made it clear that this was a place where I could grow and learn alongside great people. I was also inspired by the mission of taking the complexity and uncertainty of the energy world and streamlining it into a powerful, easy-to-use software solution.
What interests and excites you most about the energy industry?
Energy, in all its forms, is fundamentally changing and impacting our world, and I’m passionate about the transition to clean, affordable, and reliable energy systems. It’s a complex puzzle with a thousand different pieces to explore, tweak, and innovate, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help solve it by combining technical, economic, and political perspectives.

What do you like to do outside of work?
To recharge, I love staying active with kickboxing, snowboarding, surfing, and scuba diving. When I’m in a more laid-back mood, I love getting creative. I enjoy painting, woodworking, and making music, ranging from digital production on Ableton to strumming the ukulele on the couch.
What technology could you not live without?
I’m a big audio geek, so a solid sound system is essential in my home (much to my neighbours dismay).
